MoD and SAF personnel act by operation of law, the rule of service and the orders of the Supreme Commander




 
The Ministry of Defence releases that members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces engaged in the regular task of securing the presidential building on Saturday, 10th August, fully complied with the legal procedure and acted in accordance with their powers and rules of service. Violent protesters were stopped with minimal force, without the use of coercive means.
 
After the protesters understood that they would not be able to carry out their goals by violence, they were allowed to leave their demands at the entrance to the presidential building, where the supreme commander of the Serbian Armed Forces was not present at that moment.
 
Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces personnel will continue to perform their duties in accordance with the law, the rule of service and orders of the supreme commander of the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
The Ministry of Defence calls upon politicians leading occasional protests, as well as their supporters, not to use violence and not to endanger the security of members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, who by their work safeguard the peace and security of all citizens of Serbia, without distinction.
