President Vučić meets Minister of Defence of the Republic of Belarus

President of the Republic of Serbia and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić has talked today with the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Belarus, Lieutenant General Andrei Ravkov, about further development of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of defence.

The meeting was also attended by Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, and Assistant Minister of Defence for Material Resources, Nenad Miloradović.

President Vučić expressed his satisfaction that he is going to meet with President Lukashenko in Minsk in two days so that he will have the opportunity again to discuss with him the possibilities for enhancing the ties between Serbia and Belarus. He also expressed hope that the President of Belarus will visit Serbia by the end of the year.

President Vučić thanked the state leadership of Belarus on the principled position and continuous support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, which is especially evident in international organisations, through opposing the admission of the so-called Kosovo to their membership. He informed Minister Ravkov about the security situation in Kosovo and Metohija, that is, about the unilateral moves by Pristina authorities directly threatening the lives of Serbian population there.

During today's meeting, the interlocutors concluded that in the previous period the defence cooperation has reached the high level that Serbia and Belarus have in other areas. They also considered possibilities for further enhancement of military-to-military, military-technical, military-economic and military-educational cooperation.
