Minister Vulin in Priboj: 129 million dinars allocated for 745 small shareholders of FAP

Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin visited today the company “FAP Corporation” ltd. in Priboj, where he attended the takeover of new cargo-carrying motor vehicles FAP 3240 BS/AB 8x8 for the Serbian Armed Forces.

Following the tour, Minister Vulin pointed out that the town of Priboj with its surroundings had strategic importance for Serbia.

- The people have to stay here, but in order to stay, they have to have jobs so that their families could live, work, and so that the local government could develop. They have to have jobs first of all, and the Republic of Serbia and the President of the Republic of Serbia take care of this area and of the people – the minister of defence stressed.

According to him, on 9th May the Government of the Republic of Serbia passed a conclusion in line with the policy of President Vučić to preserve and develop this area.

- Pursuant to the conclusion 129 million dinars have been allocated for 745 small shareholders of the FAP which will be paid to them in next several days. All those open financial obligations which we agreed upon at the time of conducting the transformation of the FAP, will be paid in few days so the state will no longer owe anything to not a single small shareholder – the minister of defence underlined adding that a session of the Supervisory board was held on that day at which the decision was operationalised and implemented.

Minister Vulin stressed that 129 million dinars would be paid to 745 workers of that factory. He thanked the personnel of that company in Priboj for their loyalty and persistence, adding that the state looked after them.

- The FAP is a company which is strategically important for the Serbian Armed Forces since the Serbian Armed Forces want to upgrade themselves, to advance and go in line with the highest world trends. The vehicle which you could see at our great parade in Niš is a vehicle which is not just a prototype but it is a vehicle which was handed over to the Serbian Armed Forces for the use, and which will soon be a part of our materiel. It has been decades since we bought such trucks, since we bought new trucks and equipment which all speaks in favour of the new, stronger and more modern Serbian Armed Forces. The FAP will continue working for the Serbian Armed Forces, and in this year the military has allocated some 315 million dinars for vehicles to be procured from the FAP – Minister Vulin emphasised and added that the future of that factory and all its staff was secure and certain and that all they needed to do was to work for their armed forces, for which they had hitherto worked with particular zeal.

After the motor vehicles takeover, Director General of the FAP Corporation Ranko Vuković underscored that on that day the best vehicle ever produced by that factory was delivered to the Serbian Armed Forces, and it was the vehicle that was not used by our military up to that moment.

Serbian Government and the Ministry of Defence recognised that, besides difficult times through which the FAP had been going, the factory should be supported by investing certain investment resources which have already yielded effects. We have arrived to a situation in which we have a high quality vehicle for the Serbian Armed Forces, which is a product that will allow our factory to present itself in some other markets – Director Vuković stressed and highlighted that the company enjoyed the support of the Government and the line ministry which would help appearing in civilian market in the future.

President of Municipality Priboj Lazar Rvović thanked Minister Vulin for another visit to the FAP Corporation and for the fact that the Serbian Armed Forces were present in that factory and the town of Priboj.

- That shows the strategic orientation of the state to preserve the FAP. Today, we witnessed the takeover of a good and high quality vehicle, and another good thing is that the factory can produce even more good vehicles – Rvović emphasised adding that the presence of the armed forces meant a lot to the town saying that “when there are the armed forces, the state is there as well”.

Speaking about the importance of the vehicles transferred to the Serbian Armed Forces for use, Colonel Dragiša Zinaja from the Logistics Department of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff pointed out that the new vehicles had a new 8x8 wheels form, whose load capacity and force singled them out among other vehicles that had been in service in the Serbian Armed Forces until that moment.

- The vehicles will be of great significance for the movability of the units of the Serbian Armed Forces and as early as by the end of the month, they are going to be sent in the field in the frameworl of our regular exercise activities – Colonel Zinaja stated.

Today’s handover of the vehicles was attended by Acting Assistant Minister of Defence for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović PhD, Head of Department for Defence Technologies Major General Mladen Vuruna, Acting Head of the Logistics Department of the General Staff Colonel Čedomir Dupor, and Director of the Military Technical Institute Colonel Bojan Pavković PhD.
