Festival “Zlatna buklija” marked by “Zastava film”




 
The International Documentary Film Festival “Zlatna buklija” (Golden Flask), which is being held for the 14th time in Velika Plana, was marked this time again by “Zastava Film” Military Film Centre.
 
In the competition of 308 films from 11 countries, Grand Prix for the best film in the festival went to the documentary “Gladly does the Serb become a soldier”, directed by Prof. Dragan Elčić, produced by Zastava Film MFC.
 
 Grand Prix for life work was received by three former directors of that film company. On the occasion of 70th anniversary of Zastava Film and 20 years since the NATO aggression against FR Yugoslavia, colonels in retirement Mile Jovanić, Branislav Glušica and Slobodan Stojanović were awarded for military cinematography, archivist activities and organisation of film media production during the NATO aggression.
 
Out of the three winners, the award was received by two laureates, while on behalf of Colonel Stojanović, who was prevented, the “Grand Prize” was received by the present director of Zastava Film, Lieutenant Colonel Goran Ikonić, who thanked the organiser of the Festival for recognising the importance and work of these people and contribution of Military Film Centre to the development and work of the Serbian cinematography.
 
Explaining the given awards, the chairman of the jury, Professor Nikola Lorencin, pointed out that it has been for 70 years that MFC Zastava Film has been creating works of art that exceed the borders of Serbia by their quality and that this film house, by its scope of production, artistic achievement and recognitions, became a unique jewel in the region and the entire Europe.
