Minister of Defence and Chief of General Staff in Base “Medevce” on Easter
Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin and Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović, accompanied by the Army Commander Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, visited members of the Serbian Armed Forces in the “Medevce” base in the Ground Safety Zone. On behalf of all in the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, Minister Vulin wished happy Easter to all Orthodox believers who celebrate today this great holiday.
Following the familiarisation with the orientation, organisational and assigned structure, and tasks of the base and conversations with the members of the Serbian Armed Forces, Minister Vulin sent the message that the Serbian Armed Forces performed their tasks even during the holidays, so that Serbia would be secured.- All the members of the Serbian Armed Forces are assured, ready, stable and capable of preserving our peace and our everyday life. Even in the days of holidays, the Serbian Armed Forces perform their tasks and the Serbian Armed Forces are the guarantee of our stability and our freedom. Today, I wish that we all think of all those who are not with their families. Today, I wish that we think of all members of the Serbian Armed Forces, of all members of all security structures, all those because of whom we say that this day as well is passing peacefully and that the days in front of us will be the days of peace and freedom. Secure and stable Serbia, secure and strong Serbian Armed Forces are guarantee that the Serbs, regardless where they live, will always be protected, that they will be looked after, that their rights will be respected, and that our freedom will be preserved – Minister Vulin said.
The minister reiterated that all the Serbs, wherever they lived, should know that a stable, free and secure Serbia was a guarantee of their survival and a reason for all of us to rejoice in the future.
The base Commander, Captain Aleksandar Stojanović informed the minister about the situation in the area of responsibility of the Base “Medevce”. The Third Army Brigade Brigadier General Slađan Stamenković stated that securing the administrative line towards Kosovo and Metohija is one of the focal tasks of the Third Brigade, and that the members of the Serbian Armed Forces successfully secured the Ground Safety Zone and the population in that area. With traditional greeting: “Christ is risen” he also wished happy holiday to all members of the Third Army Brigade who were discharging that and other tasks.The holiday visit to the Base “Medevce” was also attended by State Secretary Bojan Jović, Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command Major General Ilija Todorov and Chief NCO of the Serbian Armed Forces Sergeant Major Zoran Kocić.
The “Medevce” Base is in the vicinity of Medveđa, in the Ground Safety Zone along the administrative line towards Kosovo and Metohija. This is where the members of the Third Army Brigade are deployed.
