March 8th Concert by “Stanislav Binički” Artistic Ensemble

On the occasion of the International Women's Day, "Stanislav Binicki" Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence gave this evening a concert in the Ceremonial Hall of the Central Military Club under the title “She was so beautiful”.

Accompanied by the “Stanislav Binički” Ensemble, the leading singer of the Opera of the National Theatre in Belgrade, Dragoljub Bajić, and the soloist of the Belgrade Opera Ljubica Vraneš, have performed tonight. The conductor was maestro Vojkan Borisavljević.
The audience could enjoy a romantic reminder of the songs by Dragan Stojnić, with whom the “Binički” Ensemble had numerous performances in the past, but also in popular melodies of various domestic and foreign authors and performers. Thus, on the repertoire, there were Serbian, but also Russian and other foreign songs.

In addition to the title song “She was so beautiful”, the audience enjoyed in the lyrics of the songs "Adagio", "My way", “Roses have withered”, "Cesarica", "Love story", " Why you are not here", “Concierto de Aranjuez”, “Sagapo”, “Mi mutimonis”, “Cryin' Time”, “Sway”, “She did not want”, and “Delilah”.

The audience in the crowded hall of the Central Military Club rewarded the Ensemble with an applause and sang with them “Oči čarnije” (Dark Eyes), “Pukni zoro” (Let the dawn breaks), “Wine and Guitars”, "Natalie" and “Friends Forever”, while the performance of Leo Martin, who sang "I Love You" as the surprise of the evening, caused real amazement.
By their tonight's performance, as well, "Stanislav Binički" Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence, which this year celebrates its 120th anniversary of existence, confirmed its reputation when it comes to the quality of performing a diverse repertoire, but also the energy and emotion that the audience has recognised for years.

Besides the excellent soloists, the audience should give credit for the ambience and atmosphere at  this concert also to maestro Vojkan Borisavljević who, choosing this concept of an 8th-March concert, reminded both of the great name of Dragan Stojnić, as well as the rich Serbian and world romance opus.
