Holding of a Panel Titled “Industry 4.0 - New Industrialisation of Serbia”




Panel titled “Industry 4.0 - new industrialisation of Serbia” was held today in the company “Sloboda” in Čačak.

The gathering, organised by the Ministry of Defence, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University in Belgrade, “Sloboda” Company and Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, was attended by Head of Department for Defence Technologies Major General Prof Mladen Vuruna, Head of Military Academy Major General Prof Bojan Zrnić, Director-General of “Sloboda” Zoran Stefanović, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Prof Radivoje Mitrović, international experts, representatives of scientific community and leading companies of industrial sector.

According to General Vuruna, significant resources were appropriated in last several years for the Ministry of Defence, chiefly for the segment of development of arms and military equipment and Serbian defence industry.

- Having in mind that defence industry companies were devastated in NATO aggression of 1999, we may say that the capacities have been revitalised, which is good not only for the military, but for Serbia as a whole - said General Vuruna and added that “Industry 4.0” with its additive technologies, robotisation and nanotechnology represented something new which was a pioneering endeavour for Serbia.

“Industry 4.0” is a new model of automation which has become famous worldwide and implies new generation of digitalised factories.
