New issue of ODBRANA
Systematic efforts pushing Serbia to recognize the illegal secession of Kosovo and Metohija are aimed at reducing and weakening Serbia, and rewarding former terrorist allies. On top of this is the amnesty of all those responsible for the 1999 aggression, ethnic cleansing and crimes, Živadin Jovanović, the former FRY foreign minister, says in his interview for Odbrana magazine, adding that it would make pointless the fact that five members of the European Union and NATO do not recognize Pristina's secession.
The new issue also brings a text on the topic that has quite aroused the public - the restoration of the national service obligation. The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, in accordance with the initiative of the President of the Republic, are already making a comprehensive analysis on the basis of which they will answer the question of whether it is necessary, how much it would cost us, and what is the social benefit of it.
We also recommend for the readers' attention the record of a multinational computer-assisted command-post exercise REGEX 18, as well as exercise Axalp 2018, conducted in the Alps by the Swiss Air Force for decades. Under the heading World we are analysing the political crisis created by the influx of refugees from Africa and the Middle East in the European Union and its aspiring countries. The dangers of the new migration wave lead to sharpening of rhetoric among the opposed options in the Union.
Among more than a thousand exhibitors, both domestic and foreign ones, this year again, at the 63rd International Book Fair in Belgrade, Odbrana Media Centre participated with 17 new publications dedicated to the wider audience, and a number of professional works, previously unpublished documents and manuscripts, biographies. At the centre of the publishing activity of our defence system there was the new edition titled “Ratnik” that included Great War, as well as the war of the nineties, as well as so far little known heroes.
