Congratulatory Message of the Minister of Defence on the Occasion of the River Units’ Day
I congratulate 6th August – the Day of River Units to all the members of the branch.
On this date, back in 1915, in Čukarica near Belgrade, the first Serbian river boat “Jadar” was launched, which officially initiated the establishment of Serbian River Flotilla. Continuing more than a century long tradition, in the last year, you demonstrated readiness to respond to modern challenges in the internal waterways, and to participate in humanitarian missions and execute security and other tasks.
Confident that you will even more enhance the river units’ branch, contribute to development of operation capabilities of the Army and Serbian Armed Forces as a whole, and that you will in the period to come, continue professionally discharging your obligations and be worthy followers of the
