New Double Issue of “ODBRANA”
Serbian military airmen are celebrating the Aviation Day, 2nd August, strengthened by newly arrived aircraft – fighter planes MiG-29 and helicopters Mi-17B5. The announced acquisitions of new aircraft and the arrival of modernised “Eagles” are going to make Serbia the best equipped country in the region.
How is the equipping influencing the airmen and what is its strategic importance? These are the questions that we put to a man who has been wearing his officer ranks since 1991, and a pilot with the longest active flight service on jet planes in the world, who was during his career posted on all the duties to which a pilot can be posted and who was an instructor to many generations of the guardians of our sky – Commander of the 98th Air Force Brigade, Colonel Dejan Vasiljević.
