Scholarships for children from the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces



Today, in the Central Military Club, in the presence of Bojan Jocić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, cooperation agreements have been signed with schools that will provide scholarships for the children of members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
 
For Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, the agreements were signed by Colonel Slađan Ristić, head of the Department for Tradition, Standard and Veterans, and Colonel Dragan Milković, head of Division for Traditions and Veterans of the Department for Tradition, Standard and Veterans.

On behalf of the Technical College of Applied Studies in Mechanical Engineering, Trstenik, the agreement was signed by Milomir Mijatović, PhD, principal of that school; on behalf of the School of Higher Professional Education for Preschool Teachers in Pirot, the agreement was signed by Emilija Popović, PhD, principal; on behalf of the Higher School for Education of Educators, Šabac, Svetlana Karić, principal; on behalf of the Preschool Teacher Training College “Mihailo. Palov” Vršac, Stevan Miljkov, authorized representative of the director of that institution, while on behalf of the College of Applied Health Sciences in Ćuprija the agreement was signed by Principal Hristos Aleksopulos.
 
On this occasion, State Sectretary Jocić, on behalf of the Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin, and on behalf of all members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, thanked schools with whom the agreements were signed today on gesture of good will and recognition of the significance of the defence system.
 
- In the previous period, we did a lot to improve the standards and status of the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, not only in the segment of funding, where we, with the support of the state and President Aleksandar Vučić, made significant steps, but we did our best to do something in cooperation with the economy and institutions, State Secretary Jocić said, reminding that over the past period, more than 30 agreements have been signed with economic entities that, in the part of the provision of services and products, offered special amenities to members of the Ministry Defence and Serbian Armed Forces.

He emphasized that, when it comes to cooperation with educational system, last year an agreement with the Belgrade Business School was signed, expressing his pleasure that this cooperation is expanding to other higher education institutions today, which will help and facilitate members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces to provide education of their children in the best possible way.
 
- Such agreements make it easier for parents to priovide their children, who will acquire all the necessary knowledge and skills, to have a better future, and the future of these children, our children, is in fact the future of Serbia, State Secretary Jocić said.
 
On behalf of the present representatives of the higher vocational schools, Prof. Dr. Milomir Mijatović, principal of the Technical College of Applied Studies in Mechanical Engineering, Trstenik, expressed satisfaction that the five higher education schools of vocational education have signed today agreements aimed at improving the standards of the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and wished them successful cooperation.

Based on the decision of the Minister of Defence to accept bids for cooperation, agreements have been signed today between the Ministry of Defence and the College of Applied Health Sciences in Ćuprija, the School of Higher Professional Education for Preschool Teachers in Pirot, the Technical College of Applied Studies in Mechanical Engineering, Trstenik, the Preschool Teacher Training College “Mihailo. Palov” Vršac and the Higher School for Education of Educators, Šabac.
 
According to the said agreements, a number of children of those employed in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces will be exempt from paying tuition fees for basic vocational studies at these higher education institutions, starting from 2018/19 school year.
 
The Technical College of Applied Studies in Mechanical Engineering, Trstenik provided free study for all children of employees of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces who achieve the status of a student in accordance with the law and general acts of the school. The School of Higher Professional Education for Preschool Teachers in Pirot will provide this for two children of the employees of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as the Higher School for Education of Educators, Šabac and the High School of Preschool Teacher Training College “Mihailo. Palov” Vršac, while at the Medical College Vocational studies, five children will be admitted to studies under the specified conditions.
