The defence system follows developments in the world and the region




 
A meeting of the leadership of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia was held today in the defence system Operations Center.
 
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Nebojsa Stefanović and Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin, attended by the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubiša Diković and Director of the Police Vladimir Rebić.
 
Participants in the meeting reviewed the current security situation in the country and the world, as well as the security risks and potential threats to the citizens of the Republic of Serbia, and the situation in Kosovo and Metohija in particular.
 
They discussed possibilities for improving the cooperation between the Armed Forces and the Police, joint work on the development of the training system, with special emphasis on strengthening the capacity of the Serbian defence system to counter terrorist threats and other security challenges and risks.
 
Ministers Vulin and Stefanović noted that our security system is fully operational, that the competent services are successfully safeguarding peace and security of all our citizens, and that the Serbian Armed Forces and the Police are constantly improving their operational capabilities in order to protect the citizens of Serbia, the territorial integrity of our state and preserve peace and stability in this region.
