Minister Vulin: Army is the Part of our Most Glorious Tradition
Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin, who attended this evening the official celebration on the occasion of the Day of Army and Day of Infantry, congratulated the holiday to all the members of the Army and underlined how much we were proud of them.
- The Army is our most numerous segment, not only the most numerous segment of our armed forces, but it is something that we all rely on, it is the one capable of protecting the entire territory of the Republic of Serbia and it is the part of our most glorious tradition. All the members of the Army know that the reason why they exist is to preserve territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, constitutional order and, above all, our freedom. Owing to them and their dedicated work, owing to self-sacrificing and self-denying work of both their superiors and each of the members of armed forces we can say that we are free and independent country – Minister Vulin stressed.
According to the minister of defence, Serbia is military neutral country and it will remain as such, and its neutrality will be respected by all other countries because it has a strong and powerful armed forces.
- Without strong and powerful armed forces there is no neutrality. A country that does not have a capability to defend itself, a country that does not have capability to protect its integrity, is not appreciated, nor is it a country whose politics and political decisions is talked about with respect. We particularly pay attention that every member of our armed forces is qualified, of course, well trained, but also personally satisfied, satisfied because he works in the armed forces, satisfied with his financial situation, because his family can be proud of him and proud of the way of life he leads – Minister Vulin stated.
Minister Vulin added that a working group had been established upon an order of the President of the Republic tasked to deal with the resolution of the housing issues in our armed forces and that would, not only in our armed forces, but in the entire security sector of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, enable that we finally had a large housing project, the greatest since the time of the SFRY.
- It is the way to thank these people, just like it is the way to tell them that they and their families deserve a special place and that they will be appreciated in a special way. We want strong and satisfied armed forces, it is the order that we have received by the Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vučuć and we will execute that order to the satisfaction of every member of the Serbian Armed Forces, but I am confident, to the satisfaction of all citizens of the Republic of Serbia – Minister Vulin said.
