General Rehearsal for the Demonstration “Freedom 2017” at Batajnica Airport
Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin and Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubiša Diković attended today, with their associates, the general rehearsal of the Demonstration “Freedom 2017” at Batajnica airport.
After the practice for the sequence of the demonstration, flight programme and the performance of the Russian Aerobatic Group “Strizhi”, Minister Vulin and General Diković visited lined up participants of the demonstration, as well as the tactical and technical display of the arms and military equipment in service of the Serbian Armed Forces.
After successfully conducted general rehearsal, Brigadier General Duško Žarković, director of the Demonstration “Freedom 2017” underlined that all the preparations were going as planned.- Everything is ready for the demonstration of the part of operational capabilities “Freedom 2017” that is going to be executed here on Friday, 20th October, on the occasion of marking the liberation of Belgrade in the Second World War. Today we have attended the general rehearsal and saw for ourselves that our members are ready to execute this demonstration which will involve more than 2200 soldiers, 130 vehicles and 30 aircraft – General Žarković pointed out.
The demonstration of a part of the operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces “FREEDOM 2017” is going to be held at Batajnica airport on 20th October 2017 at 12.00. For the first time, new MiG-29 planes will be presented to the public, as well as the modern equipment for soldiers of the concept 1500.The flight programme will include the Aviation of the Serbian Armed Forces and the finale of the programme will be marked by the performance of the Russian aerobatic team “Strizhi”, while the static display is going to be dedicated to the new products of Serbian defence industry.
