Dress rehearsal for Serbian Armed Forces youngest officers' promotion ceremony




At the plateau in front of the House of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, tonight, a dress rehearsal for tomorrow's promotion ceremony for the youngest Serbian Armed Forces officers was held.
 
The last test parade of the graduates of the Military Academy and the MMA Medical Faculty, 187 of them who will be promoted to the first rank of officers, was attended by Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin and Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff General Ljubiša Diković. 
 
This will be for the twelfth time that the promotion ceremony is organized in front of the House of the National Assembly. 
 
In a statement to Radio Television Serbia, during the dress rehearsal, Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin said that tomorrow's day is not only big for cadets and their families, but also for the Republic of Serbia.
 
- Our country gets a new class of the youngest officers, a class of pride, but also an opportunity to show once more to the whole world who will, if need be, defend our country in the future, and therefore Serbia has reason to be proud.
 
According to the protocol of the ceremony, it is planned that the best in the ranks are presented with sabres, the most successful cadets by branches and services - pistols with inscription, while the best cadets of the MMA Medical Faculty will be given parade daggers.
 
The programme of the ceremony will include the aviation of the Serbian Armed Forces, and the "Stanislav Binički" Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence and the Representative Orchestra of the Guard will be in charge for the music programme.
 
This year, 160 male and female cadets of the 138th class finishes the Military Academy, and among them there are 12 cadets from Angola and one from the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Srpska.
 
The MMA Medical Faculty is to be completed by 27 boys and girls, among them 24 from the 3rd class of the Medical Faculty and three from the Master Studies.
 
The ceremony on the occasion of the promotion of the youngest officers of the Serbian Armed Forces, which will be attended by the highest state and military leadership, as well as numerous guests from the country and abroad, will start tomorrow in front of the House of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia at 11 o'clock.
