Marking the centenary since the death of Field Marshal Radomir Putnik

The Minister for Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs in the Government of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin led today the state delegation on the occasion of marking the centenary since the death of Field Marshal Radomir Putnik, one of the greatest military strategists of his time.

Mr. Vulin reminded of the fact that Field Marshal Radomir Putnik had modernized the Serbian Army, introduced the regulations of the contemporary world at that time, and the most important thing was that he had preserved its free spirit and unwavering wish to fight for freedom.

He assessed that Field Marshal Putnik was the top professional, the most prominent part of a victorious and infinitely brave generation in the history of our nation and the man who did not give freedom for anything.

Wreaths were also laid by representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, the City of Belgrade, descendants of Field Marshal Radomir Putnik, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations devoted to preserving traditions of Serbian liberation wars.

The organizer of the ceremony is the Committee of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for preserving traditions of Serbian liberation wars.
