Chief of General Staff at EUMC meeting




The Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic took part in a meeting of the EU Military Committee (EUMC) held today in Brussels.
 
The topics of the meeting today were the EU advisory training missions and the missions and operations of the Common Security and Defence Policy with an emphasis on the mission ATALANTA, EUNAVFOR MED and Western Balkans, which were discussed by the Director General of the EU Military Staff (EUMS), Chief of General Staff of the Central African Republic, Commander of the US Africa Command (AFRICOM), as well as commanders of military operations of the EU Naval Force in Somalia (ATALANTA) and the EU Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina (ALTHEA).
 
The participants of the meeting were addressed by the Chief of General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who talked about the current situation in this country.
 
On the sidelines of the meeting today, General Dikovic met with Chiefs of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Poland, as well as the Commander of the Cypriot National Guard.
 
The Serbian Armed Forces currently participate in four EU missions including the EU Multinational Operation in Somalia (EUTM Somalia), the EU Naval Force Military Operation in Somalia (EUNAVFOR Somalia – Operation ATALANTA), the EU Training Mission in Mali (EUTM Mali) and the EU Military Training Mission in the Central African Republic (EUTM RCA). Our 20 members are engaged in these operations at the moment.
