Final Planning Conference for the exercise “Platinum Wolf 17”



During the previous four days the Final Planning Conference for the international exercise “Platinum Wolf 17” led by Chief of Staff of the 4th Army Brigade Command Colonel Sladjan Stamenkovic has been conducted in Vranje.

 
The Conference represents the final phase of the planning process for the exercise “Platinum Wolf 17”, during which the plan of the exercise conduct has been defined and other details important for the exercise.
 
At the exercise “Platinum Wolf 17”, which will be carried out from 12th - 23rd June 2017 in the “South” Base, the units will exercise the use of non-lethal weapons, procedures during the engagement in multinational operations and actions and procedures in multinational environment. One of the objectives of the exercise is the exchange of experience of units in the engagement in multinational operations so far.
The participation of around 450 servicemen from 9 countries is planned, and the management of the exercise including representatives of the partner countries participating in the exercise is responsible for the command of the exercise.
 
Besides the Army members, the Conference was attended by representatives of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Hungary, the USA, Slovenia, the United Kingdom and Montenegro.
 
The Commander of the South Base Peacekeeping Operations Centre Lieutenant Colonel Branislav Stevanovic informed the participants of the Conference about capacities of this Centre for support and conduct of this and similar activities, and they were shown training simulators of the Centre. The presentation of the Centre’s capacities was attended by the Defence Attache of Japan Colonel Yoshimasa Taki.
 
During the Conference the reconnaissance of Borovac training ground was carried out, where the units will stay in camp conditions and deal with tasks prepared and assigned by the management of the exercise, as well as the reconnaissance of the Independent Automated Shooting Range “Medja”, where the participants familiarized with conditions and manner of shooting, which will be conducted during the first phase of the exercise.
 
During their stay in Vranje, the participants of the Conference visited the Memorial room of the 4th Army Brigade and the Monastery of Venerable Prohor of Pcinja.
