Meeting of the Minister of Defence with the Ambassador of Italy
The Minister of Defence, Mr Zoran Đorđević, talked today with the Ambassador of the Italian Republic in Belgrade, Mr Giuseppe Manzo.
It was mutually stated that between the two countries there exists a high level of understanding and a sincere orientation towards further development of the overall cooperation, and particularly in the field of defence.
Serbia and Italy have established a strategic partnership which follows the development of the relations of the two countries, particularly in the sphere of economy. Also, the cooperation between Serbia and Italy actively contributes to achieving the most significant priority of the Republic of Serbia Government – swift accession to the European Union.
Minister Đorđević underscored developed defence cooperation with Italy and joint participation of the members of the two armed forces in multinational operation UNIFIL in Lebanon.
Several joint projects were launched in the previous period, military-to-military and military medical cooperation was intensified, and the interlocutors agreed that military educational cooperation makes the foundation of the future relations.
